If there’s one thing that stood out from Kylie and Eric’s fun and carefree, boho-inspired wedding in Iowa, it was their bubbly personalities. These two really know how to have a good time and enjoy every special moment together, so it was really important for me as their friend and as an experienced photographer to bring that out in their images. 

Also, having known Kylie since our school days, it was such a joy to be there to not only celebrate their wedding in Iowa, but also to capture all these fantastic moments for them. 

And, fun fact, Kylie and Eric met in school too, and they were married by Kylie’s grandpa! 

Kylie And Eric’s Elegant Boho Wedding in Iowa

For their wedding in Iowa, Kylie and Eric chose The Fountains Ballroom, and what a choice it was! It was BEAUTIFUL and offered such a refined backdrop. Basically, The Fountains Ballroom looks like something out of a dream, and it was the perfect choice for Kylie and Eric to express their love for one another.

To go along with their venue, they went with very simple colors: taupes, mauves, blushes, and pampas. Their wedding was filled with a lot of boho, neutral colors. The boys wore navy blue suits, and the bridesmaids wore vintage rose/taupe dresses, and all the decorations were designed to fit a boho theme for their wedding in Iowa.

Favorite Moments from this Carefree Wedding in Iowa

I had so many favorite moments from Kylie and Eric’s wedding in Iowa, and they did too! As a wedding photographer, it’s important to me to capture what matters most to the couples I work with. For Kylie and Eric, that was their first look and time together right after the ceremony. 

In their own words, “It was so special to have those moments together right before and after we were officially married to just be together and soak in the day together.” I loved photographing this for them: the joy they have in each other, how much they mean to one another, and the fun they have just being together. I mean, right after their amazing couples’ shots in a BEAUTIFUL field, they shared some shaved ice!  

One of my other favorite moments came after everything was said and done though. It was the kind words Kylie had to say and how much people loved her photos. In her own words, “McKenna is AMAZING! She is so professional, and if you don’t take pictures much, she has the gift of making you feel so comfortable and everything just so natural! We got SO many compliments on our pictures because of her.” 

I’m always thrilled to know just how much people love what I do for them. It means so much to me to be able to help bring their wedding dreams to life and to capture them so they and their friends and family can enjoy them forever.
