This wedding at Countryside Community Church and The Empire Room was one of the most stylish celebrations I’ve ever had the pleasure of shooting! Pete and Rachel are so fun and they had such a cool vision for their day. With a modern aesthetic in black and white, every detail was so thoughtful and elegant.
Rachel looked like a total princess in her chic white wedding gown, complete with… wait for it… gloves! So fun. Doing portraits and first looks with her and Pete was such a good time – they were giddy with excitement. Plus, they brought in their fur babies, Rudy and Rosie, for photos, which was the best!
A Gorgeous Ceremony
At the church, it was so striking to see the whole wedding party lined up in black dresses and tuxedos. The black and white color scheme was complemented by all-white bouquets, with flower displays by Bouquet Omaha elevated on clear PVC stands. It was such a simple way to give Countryside Community Church a modern edge.
Rachel and Pete wrote their own vows, and it was so adorable – enough humor to feel true to them (the couple who, after all, met when they dressed up as Ron Burgundy and Veronica Corningstone from Anchorman for a Halloween party – true story!) and enough genuine and heartfelt honesty to make sure there were plenty of tears from their friends and family. That’s the sweet spot for sure.
A Chic and Modern Reception at The Empire Room
After the ceremony, the bride and groom and wedding party took a bus to The Empire Room, and let me tell you, it was a party bus! For Pete and Rachel’s entrance into the reception, The Empire Room announced them with cold sparks – it was such a great moment! And the Empire Room itself was the perfect backdrop for their modern vision. The white walls worked so well with all the white flowers and made the gold accents really pop.
Later in the evening, Rachel had a killer outfit change. She went for a fluffy white mini dress and white platform Converse – what a look! The happy couple popped champagne for a champagne tower, partied to a live band, and exited The Empire Room to a row of sparklers. It was the best!
When I’m shooting a wedding, it’s always so beautiful to see why the couple clicks the way they do. When you hear this you can get excited about their story right along with them. This was definitely what happened at Rachel and Pete’s Empire Room wedding!
